SP920P

6000 Lumen XGA DLP Projector

New

The XGA-resolution BenQ SP920P DLP Projector, with its 6000 ANSI lumens and 2000:1 contrast ratio, works just as well in a home media room as it does in a brightly-lit classroom, auditorium or lecture hall.

In addition to being bright, those images will be vivid and beautiful thanks to the SP920P's Texas Instruments DLP DMD imaging chip, the part that forms the picture. TI's DLP chip with BrilliantColor uses not just the primary colors of red, green and blue to create images but their complements too: cyan, magenta and yellow. The result is vibrant, true-to-life colors that seem to jump off the screen.

This projector can operate just about anywhere in the world. It can handle power from 100 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz. Its onscreen display offers 17 languages to choose from.

The SP920P can process and display video signals in NTSC (the North American TV standard), NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60, SECAM and more than two dozen PC and Mac resolution/frequency pairs.

It can also project in 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition and those signals will stay in pure digital form from their source to the projector thanks to the SP920P's HDMI v 1.3 port.

But the SP920P has virtues beyond its flexibility. Economical mode lowers fan noise to that of a whispered conversation and extends lamp life too. Auto Off also saves money. A built in FAQ button projects answers to frequently asked questions right on the screen. Quick Auto Search finds the active input fast when you have multiple connections. And Wall Color Correction corrects the color when you don't have a screen and have to project on a wall or blackboard.

But perhaps the SP920P's most interesting and unusual feature is its dual lamp design. Use both lamps at once (Dual Brightness Mode) and you get 6000 ANSI lumens of brightness. Use them in Dual Reliable Mode and you're using them both in Eco mode at 4800 lumens with a 50 percent increase in lamp life to 3000 hours. The most economical mode is Single Alternative Mode, which uses one lamp at a time at 3000 lumens and a total lamp life of 4000 hours.

6000 ANSI Lumens and a 2000:1 Contrast Ratio
That's plenty of projection power for watching a DVD or Blu-ray disc in your media room or making presentations in a well-lit large classroom, lecture hall or auditorium.
Texas Instruments DLP DMD With BrilliantColor Technology
BenQ projectors were the first to adopt BrilliantColor technology. It's not hard to understand why. BrilliantColor increases color accuracy while it increases color brightness by up to 50 percent over DLP projectors without it. BrilliantColor provides accurate, true-to-life images because in addition to red green and blue, its spectrum includes their complements: cyan, magenta and yellow. What's more, DLP projectors require no filters that have to be periodically cleaned and replaced.
Excel with VIDI (Unishape) Superior Image Projection
To ensure the best possible image quality for all presentations no matter the setting or content, BenQ worked closely with Philips and Texas Instruments to create VIDI (Unishape)—a sophisticated lamp lighting technology that dynamically adapts lamp output to each image/scene with millisecond precision to optimize brightness, color correction, and dark detail definition.
Customize With 3-D Color Management
With 3-D Color Management you can individually manage not just three colors (red, green and blue) but six: RGB plus magenta, cyan and yellow. Color management provides fine color control adjustment to allow for more accurate color reproduction, should you require it. It's typically used in permanent home theater installations by experienced videophiles and technicians who have the equipment (a test disc and a device called a colorimeter) to tune colors to the most exacting standards.
Dual Lamps With Three Modes For Maximum Brightness With Flexibility
With both 280 Watt lamps burning (Dual Brightness Mode) you'll get a full 6000 ANSI lumens of brightness for 2000 hours that works even in large, well-lit conference halls and auditoriums. In Dual Reliable Mode you're still using both lamps but they're running in Eco mode. So you get 4800 ANSI lumens, suitable for medium-sized rooms. Expected lamp life soars 50 percent to 3000 hours. In Single Alternative Mode you're using whichever lamp has the lowest operating hours. In this mode you get a still quite useful 3000 lumens and as many as 4000 hours of lamp time. You can pick the mode that's best for your situation at any time.
Internationally Operational
The SP920P has a 100 - 240 V AC, auto switching power supply and the ability to accept and project video in the NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL-60, SECAM standards. In addition to its native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution the SP920P can sync with more than two dozen other PC and Macintosh resolutions. And its onscreen display offers a choice of 17 languages making this projector a great choice no matter where in the world you are.
Quick Auto Search Finds the Active Input Fast
You often might have multiple inputs plugged in to the projector. With Quick Auto Search activated it will automatically switch to the one that's got the live signal.
FAQ Button Answers Your Questions On Screen
Many Web sites have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page but have you ever heard of a FAQ button on a projector's remote control? Just press it and with a few more clicks you can read either the Image and Installation FAQ or the Features and Service FAQ right on screen.
Presentation Timer
Tired of listening to subordinates and vendors drone on and on during their over-prepared, statistics-laden presentations? Invite them to use your SP920P and set the Presentation Timer to your liking, say five or ten minutes. You're unlikely to lose much important information and you'll gain a whole lot of time.
Wall Color Correction
Don't worry if you don't have a projector screen handy. BenQ has studied the most commonly used paint colors and developed easy-to-use Wall Color Correction technology so that you can project almost anywhere and still get the precise color performance you need.
